Possible? Yes.
Probable? No.
Chance of Success? 1 in a trillion.
Possibility of Death? Very Likely.
Who knows what one could do with it. Theoretically, if you stole it, you could hold for ransom, keep it and have the FBI and all other governmental agencies searching for it, or destroy it. But in all three of those, I'd say the government would probably kill you if you did any of those. However, if you steal it merely to show how vulnerable the document truly is, then they might be a little nicer to you, if you managed to tell them that.
But I'd say, you're better off not taking it. I doubt it would be the same as National Treasure.

There are several copies out there which, if you're really stupid and moronic, you could attempt to steal. There are collectors of rare documents who would love the chance to take possession of something like the Declaration of Independence. But one would have to be really desperate to even attempt to steal one of the original copies. Stealing a government document has serious consequences.
But feel free to try...

Contrary to National Treasure's ridiculous premise it would be impossible to steal the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution. They are among the most guarded historical artifacts on the planet.

no its not, because contrary to national treasures guide of it, that is NOT how the declaration of independance is kept secure. they could only speculate the security procedures due to the fact that the information is classified to prevent people, even if they knew how it was guarded and how to get around it, from stealing it.

I think one could steal anything if you put enough effort into it. As for finding a use for it, maybe keep it in a shoebox under your bed, with the Mona Lisa and the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Sure, anything's possible. It is, however, HIGHLY unlikely. You'd have a better change of winning the lottery or being struck by lightning.

Well Ive always heard that anything is possible. I wouldn't want to be the one to try. I suppose you could put it in a safety deposit box.
