I'm getting the Creative Vision W myself. I've had THREE Creative MP3 players and they all still work (I'm just upgrading).

First, the Vision W:
Pros:
-Soooo many.
-Beautiful screen (widescreen 16:9 ratio-FANTASTIC resolution)
-Excellent battery life. Given what this thing does, it gets great battery life. I've heard up to 17 hours MP3 and 7.6 hours video playback. Of course, it varies on your settings.
-Has FM tuner
-Has Organizer to keep numbers, dates, etc handy
-Easy to use software, interface
-Here's a BIG advantage if you like movies/video: can play in MULTIPLE video formats (i think 7 different ones, Ipod can do only two formats)
-Has SD card slot (great if you take pictures)
-Battery is rechargeable AND replaceable

Cons:
-A bit bulky. It weighs about 9 oz and is about 2.2 cm thick. Of course, it is also longer to accomdate the 4.3 inch HD screen.
-I've heard sound quality is good, but not as good as others. It's best selling point is video features/movie playing. You should go listen to it at Best Buy to see if you like the sound.

Ipod: Someone else can add to the list, as I am a bit less familiar with Apple, but from what I've gathered....

Pros:
-Stylish
-Functions well, but doesn't have as many features as Vision (no FM tuner, card slot, etc)
-Easy to use
-Less bulky, thin, more mobile
-Lots of accesories

Cons:
-Must stick with iTunes (you don't have to with Vision)
-Lack of different video formats
-Battery is HELL to replace

Hope this helps! Good luck (I'd get the Vision W ;-) )

I love my Creative Zen Vision:M... it's like the W, but it's not as big. I would go with Creative because it works with many programs, not just iTunes, and gives you the ability to customize it.
MP3 Players do not come with viruses... you get viruses from downloading illegal songs and stuff.
They are almost the same, except Creative has a radio and larger screen and iPod has games.
walmart.com and amazon.com now sell videos, which makes having a Creative much better! So not only will you have better quality, but it will be cheaper.

I have both (an older version of creative zen) and although I like the look/feel/weight/portability/hip factor of my ipod, hands down on the zen. It's a little heavier and not as pretty as the ipod but file transfering/converting/sharing is painless and there are more features for adjusting/equalizing the sound quality. Basically you can download any file format and easily load it onto the zen without burning a cd, converting, and half the other red tap crap you have to go through with loading itunes.

For Chistmas I got an iPod 4 GB nano and my bf got the 4gb Creative Zen and his is way better. I think the best part is that he can use more than 1 program to transfer where with apple you can only use iTunes so everything has to get imported to iTunes which is a pain in the butt.

If you get an iPod, you will essentially have to use iTunes, and if you use iTunes already, the iPod is really the only player that will be compatible. The differences in the players are minute enough, both are great models, but convenience is really the bigger question.

You should get an Mp3, just take a look at how many people have trouble with iPods on the questions.

I own a black 30gig Video iPod and I could not be any happier. I've had mine for over a year-now. No viruses (you only get viruses from files you download that have viruses), and iTunes makes everything very easy.
