Its their way of asking you to move so that they can see what you're blocking, perhaps the TV? My dad always said this to me as a kid.

My Father used it whenever I would stand in front of television while he was watching a program, meaning he could no longer see the television ( as in, I was like a door. had I been a window he would have been able to continue watching)
