HELP!!!!! Something is wrong with my IPOD!!?

My ipod nano's screen will freeze sometimes and I will have to let the battery die and re-charge it for it to work again. Any suggestions on how to fix the problem? It has been doing this since the second day I got it.

try refreshing it by holding down the menu and middle button down at the same time and if tht don't work then u'll probably have to restore it's factory setting...this will delete all ur songs tho so u'll have to put them on again.
