Fryar entered the league out of Nebraska as the #1 pick of the draft super-gifted: 6 foot 200 pounds, freakish strength, cartoon-size hands and legitimate 4.3 speed.
Unfortunately, he was also a thug who took drugs and beat women, and he was stuck on a terrible New England team for 9 years, his entire physical prime, and put up weak numbers.
Then he found God and got traded, resurrecting his career in his 30s with the Dolphins and the Eagles, notching 5 1,000 yard seasons with both teams all after age 30 and ending his career in the top 10 in most categories. 5-time pro-bowler.
He was always durable and tough, and when his physical powers were at there zenith, he was an idiot on a bad team a and had no numbers.
This has extra relevance with Michael Irvin just being inducted.
Final Numbers for Fryar: 851 catches (10th alltime) 12,785 (10th alltime) both better than Michael Irvin's career numbers.

Fryar has great numbers but he has only been eligible for the Hall since 2006. There are still great players like Art Monk have been snubbed for the past 7 years. He retired holding the single season receptions record (106) and the most consecutive games with a catch (183) and was ranked higher than Irvin. I could see the Hall having a problem with Fryar's troubles in his past, even if he turned it around and became a minister. Irvin was a good player but it is sad to see two others overlooked!

They won't put him in. Irvin got in because he was a star on the Dallas SB teams in the 90's.

no i dont think that anyone who can't obey the law should be honored on a national stage. nfl players are supposed to be role models for kids, and no one should idolize a thug, no matter how good he was.

He should be a hall of famer. unlike baseball, the NFL hall, is all about what You did on the field, not at home.
