In Memphis, you don't get to choose which style of modern might interest you, as it looks as though very little modern dance is offered. The entirety of the modern dance scene in Memphis seems to revolve around one University of Memphis faculty member, Holly Lau, and the program she runs out of a place called Theatre Works. She is also the Co-Artistic Director for Project:Motion, a modern dance company in Memphis.

And to the first person - Sandra: reading descriptions of modern dance styles is pretty meaningless without actually seeing it in action. Also, very, very few modern dance classes outside of college programs focus solely on one style. Most modern teachers (even in college programs) draw from a variety of styles in their teaching.
