The humidity of the air and the temperature vary from day to day. Rising air cools to the dewpoint above which level cloud will form. If the air is drier at the surface or the air is hotter when it starts rising, the base of the cloud will be different ftom the previous day. If the temperature and dewpoint are the same on consecutive days, the cloud base will be the same.
