Hello There.
When we surf the net we sometimes get adverts relating to our locality - for example, "Meet Girls/Guys/Hamsters in Wellington (which is where I live).
Suddenly my PC is sending me "Meet Girls/Guys/Hamsters" in New York. I'm concerned that if my PC thinks it's in another country, this may be a botnet issue. Any ideas?

thats just the ads reading your ip address and trying to match it up with a place your computer knows where you live but you propbably have a different ip address then before

this shouldnt be a problem unless you are no longer able to meet new hamsters in your area

if however having no new hamsters in your life makes you unhappy just refresh your ip address and you should be fine

Your PC is trying to give you a hint. Obviously it wants to move to NY (the center of the universe). I think you should have a discussion with your PC ans come to a decision.

P.S. Whats with the hamsters? I think that's the bigger issue.

in basis im going to assume that the ad is mis-reading your ip some how. dont worry about it. in a way it can help you!!

although you might want to run it over with local computer experts it could be a form of ip jumping

yes that is probably the answer. a spybot is in your system for the spam.
