Just take a sample and use pH paper. You can purchase it at a hardware store.

u can do that with a simple pH paper.pH has a range of values between 0 -14.dip pH strip in water if ur value is below 7 this means water is acidic if ur value is above 7 then it will be basic if it is 7 then it means neutral.usaually the water which has pH value between 6.5 and 7.5 or with a little differenc is acceptable for drinking.

HERE'S THE CHEAPEST AND EASIEST METHOD!

Call them (your municipal water supplier) and ask for their water quality data, specifically the pH. They will have that information readily available. You may have to provide the location of your drinking water source (i.e., your address). If the pH is below 7, it trends toward acidic. However, you ask them what acceptable pH ranges are for drinking water.

If you want to test it yourself, you can buy some litmus paper. If you have a concern about the quality of your water, you should contact your local water utility and have them come out to take samples.

1) go to the hardware store
2) buy some litmus paper
3) follow the directions- the blue paper will turn red if the H2O is acidic.
What should you do if it is?
1) complain
2) buy bottled water
3) shower somewhere else if it's really acidic
4) if seriously toxic, call the EPA.
