Ok, so i got a new game that ran like crap. My friend said he could make it faster. So being retarded I let him have the comp and he called me and said it doesn't work now. I'm like wtf? He told me that he tried installing some more ram that he had from another computer and it was the wrong kind. Then while it was running he noticed that it wasn't reading the ram. So instead of turning it off, he just pulled out the old ram. Now it acts like it restarts every 2 sec. The cd/dvd drives flash like it is restarting itself. I cant even get to the screen to reformat it. It is an hp a530n. I know how to install ram, I didn't know thats all he was going to do. But wtf did he do to it? I called a repair shop, and they said he could of screw up the mother board, (not likely) or he could of "confused" it. How can I de-confuse it? Any help would be appreciated. I don't want to pay $35 for them to just tell me what is wrong with it.

Ram is not hot swappable.... In other words, if you need to pull ram you need to power down the system.... You also need to worry about ESD (Electrical Static Discharge).... Both of these can "break" your ram chips... It can also cause motherboard problem....

Since he broke it, get him to fix it and don't pay until he does.... Tell your parents what happened since he will refuse to fix it....

Most likely the solution is that you are going to have to buy new RAM sticks to fix the computer.... Better hope it's not the motherboard since it is proprietary and could get really expensive to replace....

Hope this helps...
