Tylenol or Ibuprofen for pain.
Saline nasal spray or drink hot tea.

Mix 1 teaspoon of salt in 1 cup of boiling water, if available add 1/2 teaspoon colloidal silver. Allow to cool completely. Lay on your bed with your head dangling over the side. With an eye dropper squirt this solution into each nostril (2-3 eye droppers full, you want a lot of water up there to wash out the junk). If you have someone around to do this for you, that's great and helps prevent spilling the salt water on the bed. Lay there for a minute or so and let the salt water work its way up into your sinus cavities. Sit up and GENTLY blow your nose. If you blow too hard you'll force salt water into your ear cannal, which hurts like a real b****. Depending on how advanced your sinus infection is the salt water will either tingle a little or burn like bloody hell. When you blow your nose this extra fluid with lossen and remove the infected muscus in your sinus cavities. Now comes the gross part. Look at the muscus in your kleenex. Is it cloudy white, yellow, green, or streaked with blood? Cloudy white? You're at the very beginning of the sinus infection. Repeating this procedure for 3-5 days should completely clear up your cold. Any other discolorations? Go to a doctor and get some antibiotics, right away. Left completely untreated a little sinus infection can turn into big, nasty health problems, even pneumonia.
This isn't a whole lot of fun, but it is effective. I do it at the first sign of an infection, and can usually avoid antibiotics.

Reflexology is a good way of treating a sinus infection. Use your fingers to press into the toes (all of them), from the root of the toe towards the tip of the toes. The toes will feel sensitive in cases of sinus problems, but this should help unblock cattarh and move on blockages

Make a warm saline solution and sniff it into your sinus cavities, blowing out the pollution. Be careful not to use too much salt, and add a pinch of baking soda if you wish. The idea is to approximate the body's saline levels. Avoid tap water treated with chlorine, as this is hard on the olfactory nerve. Distilled water is a good option. Do this at the first sign of infection.

I always get bad sinus infections and sudafed helps but can make heart jittery sometimes. I use a bowl of boiling water microwaved for a few minutes, and put my face up to the steam for a few minutes. You should inhale steam a few times daily, but if it doesn't clear up shortly you should go to the doctor.

None. If you have a sinus infection and it doesn't go away you can be in serious trouble.

Failure to treat with antibiotics can result in the infection spreading to the brain.

You can use various treatments as suggested to reduce the pain, but the infection needs to go away on its own or be cured with antibiotics.

Steam is good, so are hot towels.

Herbally, sinus infections are usually treated with Garlic, vitamin C (ie carrots) and horseradish, fenugreek & marshmellow. Works as a good mucolytic amongst other things.

I think the best way to deal with a true infection may be through antibiotics. The risk of an infection spreading is not one you want to take. It could probably lead to more serious complications.
