I'm getting induced next Sunday at 40.4 weeks. I am very excited about this but I don't know what I'm going to do with myself for this upcoming week. For those who have had experience then can you tell me what you did? I have to go to school until next Friday which also makes it go by very slow. Should I walk? Take baths? What to do to pass the time?! Is this going to be my longest week? How did it feel to you?

I was induced too. I loved being pregnant, and I was nervous about having the baby on the "outside" to actually take care of. The week leading up to my appointment, I really tried to not worry or think about it. I just buried myself in my work. You might want to try the same thing. Try as hard as you can to concentrate on your school work (I know it's SO hard!) and the time should go by a little quicker. I'd also suggest taking walks. Not only will it pass the time and you'll get some exercise and get your joints and muscle nice and limber, but it also may spark natural labor. One thing I'd tell you -- and absolutely not to scare you, but to inform you -- induction births are intense. My doctor tried to prepare me by telling me it takes the entire labor process and crams it into a couple hours. Be prepared for pretty intense contractions and try, try, try to remember to relax and breathe. Use your concentration method and keep yourself focused on breathing. Between contractions, try to relax and enjoy the time so that you can remember it later. Best of luck to you and good luck with the baby!

CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR FIRST>>>>
one teaspoon of oil (not sure - i beleive it was an oil laxitive) and the baby was on its way in about 1 hour! you will start to feel the labor pains before your water breaks and it feels like you have to poop alot then as it gets stronger you feel likethe baby is comming out of your rear! it gets exciting and youll be happy but sad at the same time because you like being pregnant but then you want to see the baby then you wory and hope that all the tests come out fine and a million things run through your head and the first time you hold her/him its all over and you have perma grin :) it was awesome.
one peice of advice ok well two: never sleep on your back pregnant and once the baby is born if its a boy or girl learn its cries! If it cries and you cant stop it and dont know why take its clothes off and check from head to toe if there is a sox string wrapped arround its toes or maybe your hair got wound arround its winky.. its happened to alot of people I know, its happened to my kid and my friends son almost lost a pinky from a baby sock.
well,good luck& best wishes.
