1/a+1/b=1/c for c
1. Multiply both sides by c
c(1/a+1/b)=1
which is c/a+c/b=1
2. Get the common denominator, which is ab
Multiply c/a by b/b (which equals 1 so it doesn't change the value) and multiply c/b by a/a
This gives you cb/ab+ca/ab=1
3. Add
(cb+ca)/ab=1
4. Multiply both sides by ab
cb+ca=ab
5. Factor out the c
c(b+a)=ab
6. Divide both sides by (b+a)
c=ab/(b+a)
...and you're done
Hope this helps
