no she didn't she looked over made up to resemble MM if you look at the montage of Monroe films you can see Marilyn had a softness about her and was naturally pretty Smith was just overmade up and hard looking and MM had real acting talent she studied at the actor's studio with the legendary Lee Strasberg. ever watch 7 Year Itch, Bus Stop, Niagra or Don't Bother to Knock (among others) MM was MORE than famous for being famous, she was an actor

Yes I think that her persona also her physical attributes made her look like a Marilyn Monroe of our time.
