why is it so many people wear blinders when it comes to politics (extreme left or right) i dont understand it ?

Moderates are the middle of the road type. No real stand just what the public thinks at the time.
PS, Things in the middle of the road get run over or already have.

Republican on paper, Moderate at heart and at the polls.
Personally I can't stand dealing with people on either extreme of the political spectrum, but my worst experiences have been with members of the far left. even being mildly to the right can cause them to go off on you (I lived near San Fran all my life, so I have been witness to it and a "victim" of it). It has colored my view of the far left I am afraid.
But even the far right has been subject to my ire. I was called a "Devil" once for implying that since all people are created in god's image then god is representative of all men, women, races, sexes and sexualities. Ever been yelled at by an old woman calling you evil and the devil for saying god is a part of every one?
I think you will find the vast majority of people fall in to the more moderate or moderate leaning view of politics. but the only ones who make head lines are the Cindy Shehans and the Pat Buchanan's of the world.

It has to do with sunglasses. Used to be, sunglasses were a rarity- & people saw the world more clearly through untinted lenses. In short- they saw things in moderation. But as the Administrations passed, & sunglasses became more popular- polarization set in because people started looking at things in rose colored, or photo greys, or greenish tints. And as we became more divided, extremism set in- and that's how we ended up where we are today... :)

I hope not they just get in the way .I say try liberalism all the way.Don't try to water it down and in four years liberalism will die for good , because it is flawed.It may take 12 years to fix our country ,but at least we can get on with making a country that lets people live in prosperity
