I'm four months pregnant and my boyfriend told me that his mom got an epidural 8 years ago and she still complains about the pain. Is that normal and has anyone felt that pain?

I have three children and I've had epidural with all of them and no problems here. My sister has four and of course had the injection with them all and no problems. His mom may have moved and you can't do that even when you're having a contraction but they will wait until it's over. I tell all pregnant mothers EPIDURAL IS YOUR FRIEND!!!!!!

My friend had a n epidural and she lost feeling in her legs when she laid down for a month then it finally went away. The doctor said that they must have hit a nerve when they administered the epidural.

I had some pain a few days afterward. Just make sure an anesthesiologist administers the epidural. They are trained to do it correctly.

i felt a lot of pain BEFORE the epidural...after they gave it to me (for both kids) it was just fine. no complications, and usually you can get up and walk in an hour or so. maybe she just doesn't want you to have one. in any case, when you are in labor, you call the shots. if you want to do it w/out one, go for it, but don't beat yourself up if you decide to get one.
