Any Tips To OverCome Shyness and Meet Others?

I'm very shy, is there any way to overcome it, so that I can meet other people and form lasting friendships or relationships with them?

As you see missed opportunities where you wish you would have said or done something at the time but didn't due to shyness, you should start to put yourself into situations where you have to interact with others. I was shy in high school, and took acting as a class my senior year; although I only did it for that semester, it helped me overcome my shyness and I am now much more extroverted. Force yourself into interactive situations with other people, and you will not regret it.

Well I would say get involved with a volunteer group that does something that interests you. It is easier to talk and be around people that have similar interests. Example: Say that you like dogsand cats. Try to volunteer at the human society. There you would find people with similar interests and in turn have something to break the ice so to speak.

start by developing some strong internet friendships. you can meet people online and chat back and forth and you can really open up and be yourself. it's much easier to talk to someone from behind a computer screen than face to face.. this helped me learn to accept myself and to express my fears and deepest thoughts and secrets to others.. now i am more comfortable openign up to new people.. making friends requires that you open up and become exposed and vulnurable. yes you can get hurt, but you can also make great friends

shyness can be very charming..just make sure you're not driving people away...it's okay to be shy around them..just let it happen.
