I know that "good" is an adjective and "well" could be used as an adverb or adjective, but it seems all the same to me. Could someone explain?

you use good when ur describing a noun.
you usually use well when describing a verb.
basically it depends on what ur describing. if ur describing the person then use good. if describing something theyre doing or their condition, use well.

Well is an adverb and good is an adjective. You use well to describe a verb. For example: I can ride my bike well (telling how I ride). You paint really well (telling how you paint).

Good describes a noun. For example: I have one good arm (describing my arm). It's been a good year (describing the year).

Good has been misused so much that it is almost acceptable to use it as you would use well, but proper English would dictate otherwise.

Compare these two phrases: I can repair the car myself and save myself some money. I could repair the car myself and save myself some money. The 1st is a statement. It sounds a lot more affirmative, assertive and action-oriented. The 2nd is a possibilitty. It sounds more hesitant, more iffish, more doubtful. The speaker is not sure for some reason.
