Never rode an automatic motorcycle and probably never would. Automatics have already taken all the fun out of most cars, why should bikes be boring? Manual gives you all the control and you decide when it's time to shift, I've never seen an automatic motorcycle in 14 years of riding, that must say something about the manual gearbox superiority.

Honda has made some but they did not sell well at all.
And there is a American company called Ridley.
There is just something fundamentally wrong with the concept of a automatic transmission on a motorcycle.
But there were times that I wished I had a reverse gear when backing a big bike up a grade.
Shifting becomes second nature and you don't even have to think about it.

I seem to remember Honda making one years ago....for some reason the phase Hondamatic sticks in my mind. I do know that Ridley cycles makes an automatic. The only reason I can think of that a person would need an automatic on a motorcycle is if the had their left arm amputated and even then it wouldn't take much to hook up a foot clutch on that side. Learn to ride a standard bike like EVERYONE else

Are you referring to the Ridley Motorcycles? I've not heard any bad press about them, but why an automatic? Just take the time to learn
how to ride a regular bike. It's not all that difficult at all.

Ridley is out of business now but you can still find them. They are awesome bikes. I own and ride one and it has nothing to do with learning to shift. I rode a Harley before I got my Ridley. Arthritis in my hands and a pinched nerve in my neck made riding painful and I didnt enjoy it anymore. Then I found this Ridley....OMG it is a dream come true. Yes, there are those who say it's not really riding if you are not shifting. BS! This bike makes it possible for me to do what I love again! Please don't buy one unless you want to be the center of attention everywhere you go. There is ALWAYS a crowd around mine.

What you are looking for is a" CF Moto" (search for it) the models are V3 and V5.
They are one of the better Chinese scooter/bikes. You can see them and read reviews about them on www.scootdawg.com and also on www.scooterbbs.com. They are 250cc engined with a CVT (belt drive transmission) and sell for just about $3000.
