Need? No.
It's a personal preference. Some women like to do it for themselves, for their men, etc. Some women don't because it can be a pain in the rear end. Some women just trim.
If you do, I recommend checking out sexuality.com's recommendations for shaving. It's not a pornography site. It just gives good information on sexuality in general.
I don't know a lot of women who do though. The women I know are far too busy to worry about hair that only one or two people will see (including themselves).

you don't "need" to shave hair anywhere! it's your personal preference.
But if you do need to remove hair from your pubic area, I recommend that you exfoliate the area before and for the next couple days after you shave to avoid ingrown hairs. Pubic hair is curly and easily becomes ingrown.
A better solution is a bikini wax. As bad as it sounds, it's actually faster, lasts longer, doesn't itch when it grows back and you're less likely to get ingrown hairs.
If you have the money, you can have electrolysis or laser hair removal. But that can get expensive.
Oh, and don't try to do a bikini wax yourself at home. It's almost impossible and you can really hurt yourself. YOu can buy the no heat wax at the drugstore and have a girlfriend or mom do it for you.

Just like shaving your underarms, it is a choice. Most women in developing countries do not shave their underarms or legs, so they probably don't shave pubically, either. It's perfectly fine to shave or not, so long as you prepare the skin correctly.
Good Luck!

Personally I think it feels better for sex when it is, but I think it looks a little creepy, sort of like a little girl, that puts me off. Also growing it back, it gets pimpley and itchy, ingrown hairs, spikey bits poking through your knickers.go for a trim or a wax!

No you dont but it would be more sanitary for you. If you dont want to shave, which alot of people dont, you can always trim so that its not completely gone (which can cause you to itch when it grows back in) so that theres just a little there. I guess its more of a preference thing?

You don't need to but guys appreciate it. Your guy will appreciate it even more if you wax so they don't feel your shaving bumps.

Of course not. And it's NOT a question of hygiene, either. If it were, pubic hair would have been bred out of the humane race long ago.

That's completely up to you, but be aware that it itches like crazy when it starts to grow back!

no, that's not really good hygiene. we have hair there for a reason. I'd say trim it with scissors or a clipper. sterilize with alcohol first.
