For the same reason that they think that if they sleep in a box over night that it is helping the homeless.
It makes them FEEL better does nothing else.
Didn't know Conservatives had anything to do with it.

Conservatives aren't looking to save anything but their own butts, so why would they have those slogans in the first place?
And I think that if everyone cared more about the planet, maybe it wouldn't be in the piss poor shape it's in now.
