i believe you will never find an exact day and month for an event in anceint history because there is not enough known for any period. the calendric cycles of ancient cultures differed from our own and historians can make only an educated guess even at the year a particular event took place, usually within a period of 100 years. only very rare occurrences such as the eruption of the island of thera in the aegean can an approximate date of 1628 B.C. be given. that is becuse of the ash that settled on the ice caps of greenland and enveloped the 5000 year old trees in california preserved it. even in this case it is no known what day or month this occurred.

It depends on the event. However, it is unlikely you will find the exact date for much ancient history. Chinese history may be the exception but I don't know about that.

It really depends on what you are looking for, if the society in question kept dated records, if we have those records and how accurate those records were.

"Ancient History" covers a LOT of territory ... what are you looking for?
