For Audioslave fans!?

In the new song "One and the Same", Chris sings the lyrics "choose your battles, not your soldiers." Does anybody know what this means??

Maybe it means that you should fight for what you believe in, and not for other people who's ideas you don't believe in, no matter if they're your friends or not.
