I believe Michael Jordan isn't in any video games because he sold the rights to his name to the game makers of Jordan vs. Bird. After that, game makers were not allowed to use Jordan's name in their games. The same thing happened with Charles Barkley after he made "Barkley's Shut up and Jam" video game. This is why lots of times you see "SG23" or something to that extent used instead of Jordan's actual name.

would you shell out millions to show a name or would you create a generic player with the same attributes that everybody knows is that player anyway? you can come up with game codes to put him in some of the games but it's just not a feasible idea to pay out such a chunk of your profits to his airness.

Because the game makers don't want to pay him any money to be in a game for one year.
