you will need a 4 year degree in education. Any major state university or private school will offer this degree. Then you will need to get your teacher's certificate which will require you to teach for a semester or so under another teacher.
You don't always need a degree in education. Any major degree will work as long as you get your teacher's certification. this will cost you extra money to take this course on your own after college.
depending on the state you live in, it may take a year of grad school, too. So many teachers just go ahead and get their graduate degree since they only need a year more and this will increase their pay scale as well.

You get your bachelor's in secondary education, a 4 year program. You will also have to take your state's certification test. There are many excellent schools. I live in Texas, so of course A&M is at the top of my list!! Good luck in your persuits.

Typically it takes a bachelor's degree to get started. Most places will then require continuing education, so your education will never end.
Each state has its own requirements. I would look for schools in the state that you hope to teach in. Most schools have education programs. Look for ones with strong programs in education, as well as the subject you wish to teach. Good luck!

Typically it takes five years, BA plus a year of grad school. Some places will let you teach with provisional credentials if teachers are in short supply.
