What Makes Superbowl winners "world champions"?

Sureling winning a nataional league doesnt make a team world champions?

The NFL is a national league but there are plenty of other teams around the world who do play the sport. America may have invented the game.... But Scotland invented golf, that doesn't make the best Scottish golf player become the world champion.

Winning a national league when there are already other national leagues cannot possibly make a team world champions....

The fact is, there are American football teams around the world...
Germany alone probably fields more than 100 teams alone.

But no where else in the world, will you find the caliber of athlete that wears a National Football League Uniform and plays at that level. Not even the German players that play for NFL - Europe have this type of athleticism.

Because elsewhere in the world...athletes can be of any age to play professional sports.
So theres no requirement to go to college and play for free while going to school full time, working a job - sometimes full time, and maintaining a private life - sometimes even married.
This time in college is very important developmentally: emotionally, mentally and physically.
It better prepares an athlete for this level of competition and no where in the world is there a team that can play against a Superbowl team and even come close to surviving.

Well, Canadian football is similar to American football, but not American football. NFL Europe is a developmental league for the NFL, so that means the NFL is the elite organization for American football in the world, hence the champions are World Champions.

Its because the league hasn't expanded into other countries. Plus alot of the players are from the US and to send them to another country would probably not sit well with them. Would you like to fly for 12 or more hours across the world to play a 3hour game and immediatly fly back to prepare for the next game. It would be a huge disadvantage. Now if they expand the league and offer Europe 32 teams and the winner from that league and the winner from the American league play a Super Bowl then it would work and I wouldn't have a problem with that.My opinion anyway.

They are the highest of football talent in the world. NFL Europe is part of the NFL and therefore you can legitimately say they are subordinate, and the CFL is unofficiall subordinate just to the fact that players who won't get draft high (or at all) go there to build a better resume or players like Ricky Williams who get suspended (and are past their primes) go there because it is less competitive (competitive in the fact of getting a starting job, not the actuall competition between teams)

the NHL, NBA, NFL and MLB champions are recognized as "world champions" because the leagues are accepted around the world as elite organizations. other leagues around the world are looked at as developmental leagues..........except for soccer or "European football".
