look all around your laptop, do you see a liitle black glass piece?
it's usually on the front or the side of the laptop.

Right click My computer and choose properties. Go to device manager. Look in the Devices and see if you see anything like irda . If you do then you probably have it. You should be able to see the IR "eye" on the front of the computer. They usually mount them in the front. It will look like a dark translucent window. Kinda like the one on the front of a tv remote, only bigger. I never understood why they put them on the front and not the back. It makes it such a pain in the neck trying to print to an Infra-Red capable printer. Hope this helps.

Right-click My Computer, Properties, Click tab Hardware, click Device Manager, look for Infared or IR in there somewhere. It would probably be under Ports.
