Yes. They have missiles to hit US ships and bases in the Persian Gulf. They have drone planes to use for spying/targeting. On paper, they are ready. The war would look like the air war portion of the 1991 Gulf War, the "tanker war", and the air war with Serbia. They can try to shut down sea travel in the Persian Gulf and air travel into Iraq, if they succeed, the troops in Iraq will be isolated. If the US doesn't want to face a Stalingrad like defeat, it would be wise to avoid pissing off Iran.

Bush is a madman who cares nothing for our nation or anyone but the buddies he's been enriching. Our news media isn't printing the news that a former National Security Adviser warned in Senate testimony on 2/1/07 that the Iraq war is such a debacle that Iran will be blamed, incidents will be falsely attributed to Iran, and even, terrorist events in the US will be falsely attributed to Iran and used as an excuse for a phony defensive war against Iran.
False flag, george bush, hmmmm where Zbignew ever get this idea? And Brzezinksi is a hawk and founding member of the trilateral commission.
It's so heartbreaking what lies ahead for our two countries. The good people of Iran burdened first with the Shah we installed after toppling their democratically elected president in 1953, then their religious nuts, and now Bush's predatory war machine is aimed right at them.
Bush is impervious to public opinion, so what's to be done?

No, & the people don't want war, with anyone! The people had their fill of war when they fought Iraq. Naturally, they are not to please with us, we backed Iraq in that war.
Their only problem is their leader, as is our problem. Iran doesn't have the bomb, yet. But he wants us to think that he is a lot closer to having it than he really is, so unless he does something drastic because he is an egomaniac, we should let it alone.

Maybe yes, maybe no. I don't think we can afford to provoke them with an attack to find out tho. Currently,
Ahmadinejad doesn't have the people behind him, but nothing can unify a country like a legitimate call to arms for self defense against an intruder. The average Iranian hates Ahmadinejad, but they hate the idea of a US invasion even more. Who wouldn't?
