"A Legue Of Their Own" might not be appropriate, there are a few scenes that need to be cut, like when Tom Hanks urinates for 90 seconds in front of the women players.

You forgot:
"The Grapes Of Wrath" for the Depression Era.
"The Sting" also for the Depression Era.
"The Right Stuff"(some editing needed) for the Eisenhower Era.
"The Glenn Miler Story" for World War II.
"PT 109" for both World War II and Kennedy.

"Ghosts Of Mississippi" might be a good one for the Civil Rights movement of the 60's.

"The Great Dictator" would be a good one to balance out "The Diary Of Anne Frank," especially if you can explain the mockery of Hitler and its effect on people's spirits.

"Bob Dylan: No Direction Home" and "Standing In The Shadows Of Motown" might be good ones to show the driving force music became in the 60's.

The women's movement is really tough to find good movies for, but the documentary "Chisholm '72" might do the trick. Chisholm was the first serious female candidate for President and also one of the first African-Americans to run for the office.

"The Great Gatsby" for the Roarin' 20's
"Eight Men Out" for the Roarin' 20's
"Lawrence Of Arabia" for World War I
"A Farewell To Arms" for World War I
"Bonnie & Clyde" for the Depression Era

This may sound far-fetched, but I always will remember every shred of history that I learned from watching "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" as a kid. I watched it recently with my 10 year old son and he loved it and was provoked to ask me all kinds of questions about who the famous people were and what they did.

In 6th grade, i remember my teacher showed us The Devil's Arithmetic which had Kirsten Dunst in it and dealt with the Holocaust. It was really good.

Women's movement-"Debbie Does Dallas." Hey, we're willing to show acts of violence, what's wrong with showing acts of love?
