because I don't I think that its like being on drugs we are dependent on oil (as a person on drugs is dependent on drugs) and we won't stop using oil until something awful happens like you know how it can cause like earthquakes which are directly connected to the plates that are connected to the volcanos and if a super volcano erupts then its said it will block out the sun and if that happens it'll kill like almost all the people we'll do studies and then stop (just like when a person on drugs OD's and almost dies) then i think we will stop using oil. plz no people that just say yes or no give detailed explainations as to why you feel as you do

The two issues are seperate, and anyone that says otherwise needs quit using drugs! Do your research man! Henry Ford wanted to use this ethanol you hear so much about back in the 1930's and 40's to run cars on, but the idea NEVER CAUGHT ON. By the way that's E100 not the E85 trash the US is trying to push now. They use ethanol (E100) in Brazil and are practically oil free. The same GM and Ford that say there's no interest in ethanol here in the US, makes many cars that run on E100 for Brazil too. The oil companies have made themselves comfortable here in the US. The car comapnies and our gov't support them 110% because it is profitable to do so. Speaking of our gov't, they are the same ones who are BS-ing us to death about this global warming issue too. If your gov't really cared about global warming we wouldn't be using oil right now. And since we are using oil, to reduce pollution until the other technologies are in place, they should stop the use of governmental motorcades and private jets, and they should demolish all their extra luxury homes. We should shut down the lights of Las Vegas, quit shopping on Sunday's, make Wal Mart's close each day and cut out all recreational driving. But you don't see any of this happening do you? A few people driving some hybrid POS isn't going to solve your problem, if there were a problem to be solved. It has been proven that there are many factors which CAN contribute to global warming. Until all areas have been extensively studied, including the sun, and the Earth's weather patterns (warming and cooling patterns) then you cannot make some idiotic claim that oil is causing it. I believe there is a great deal of pollution that should be cut back on because it's really not good for anything but I don't think using this "global warming" theory is the way to go with it because it's been proven to be BS. Show us the facts, for example, on your study on how putrid the water of the East River in New York is because of our polluting it. Tells us specifically where it is coming from and how to stop it. Now we have something to do. Finally, we need to give our gov't the finger already and demand to use alternative sources of power that will actually work and make a difference and quit waiting for them to do something about it on their own. The bigger (and real) problem with oil is that we are killing innocent people overseas for it and THAT will likely come back to bite us in the ***.

why compare drugs with global warming? Global warming is very serious, and it's getting worse. When the rest of the world gets on the band stand it will be too late. I think we should start worrying about stop having children, cause it's gonna be a painful death for them.Darn they are still debating what it is.

100,000 years ago, the glaciers were nearly down to florida. 50,000 years ago woolly mammoths were dying out because their environment had changed. The earths climate changes. In fact we have been going in and out of ice ages basically since the dinosaurs went extinct. It takes about 150,000 years between the highs and lows. Our driving SUV's isn't about to change that fact. That being said, I still believe that we should try to produce cleaner energy sources, and when technology exists clean up and minimize pollution. Those are things that we do have control over and that would make a difference.
