Chlorophyll makes plants look green because they absorb red and blue light the best. However, they dont' absorb green light very well, and so the reflect green light. You see it as green because they absorb all the other wavelengths. The leaves are green, and sometimes the stem, because they are the organs of the plant which contain chloroplasts.
