Mathematics is the science of using numbers, operations, functions and other analytical tools to make sense and order of the world around us. Mathematics is important because other sciences, like physics, chemistry, biology and many others use it to derive their own scientific conclusions and solve their unique problems. That includes the use of mathematics to solve both mundane (practical) and theoretical problems. Mathematics is like a language in that it has its own rules, grammar and syntax just like English and other languages do.
