I love all of your answers. Especially the suggestions about going to a movie, getting a good nights sleep or a nap, and keeping a journal. Very good ideas.

Everyone is stressed out.

Chunk it down. How much of whatever it is can you do something about right now? How much can you control? What's one thing you could do to make it better? do that....then look for balance...get some sleep, food, exercise, fresh air and/or pampering.

I sometimes make a list, a long list of things I am stressing about and things that need to be done now....then I put the paper next to my bed and ask God to hang onto it for me just for an hour (i am obsessive and know I won't just let Him have it all).....at least I get some sleep.

Give yourself a break...what would you do for afriend in your situation....do that.

When you feel uncomfortable about life think of all the good things that made you feel alive in your past. You hang on to that and you don't let the dark thoughts overwhelm you. A good experience would be getting involved with a program related to volunteering or a church. Take care Heather

LATELY I HAVE BEEN FEELING VERY STRESSED AND THE WAY I DEAL WITH IT IS IN VARIOUS WAYS.

TAKE LONG WALKS
LISTEN TO MUSIC ON MY IPOD
CLEAN MY HOME (VERY OFFTEN) (LOL)
TAKE LONG DRIVES AND PUT ON VERY LOUD MUSIC
SOME TIMES I CRY, THAT HELPS ALSO
SOME TIMES I GO TO THE MALL
SOME TIMES I JUST RENT A GOOD MOVIE
WHAT I LOVE TO DO IS GO TO MY YOGA CLASS

YOGA WORKS WONDERS.

Everybody.
Lying to myself, drinking, doing something, however pointless, to distract myself until I eventually get over it. This works until I invent something else to stress myself about.
I understand that I invent the stress for myself but that does not stop it happening.

I actually go to a movie by myself. Or I go to this place called "Color me mine" and paint pottery.
If I am at work I take a deep breath and get away from my desk for a few minutes...i go to my car at lunch and try to relax.
