oxygen has an electronegativity of 3.5 and hydrogen has 2.1. A good way to remember this is to remember that
PHysical SCIence Brings Clean OFfices
(P-phosphorus 2.1, H-Hydrogen 2.1, S-Sulfur 2.5, C-Carbon 2.5, I-Iodine 2.5, Br-Bromine 2.8, Cl-Chlorine 3, N-Nitrogen 3, O-Oxygen 3.5, and F-Fluorine 4)
