My favourite past player was Dalglish, absolute class, forget Eric Cantona from the Manc Scum Dalglish was twice the player and as such just look at all of the trophies he inspired us to win.
In the present squad it has to be God. I remember watching Robbie Fowle in his first season, I went to every game that year, what a player, I'm made up he's back but a bit disappointed that Benitez doesn't give him more of a starring role.
There have been so many great players my top 10 would be
1. Kenny Dalglish
2. Ian Rush
3. Graeme Souness
4. Alan Hansen
5. Jan Molby
6. Robbie Fowler
7. John Barnes
8. Peter Beardsley
9. Steven Gerrard
10. Jamie Carragher

Bruce Grobbelar was Liverpool's main goal-keeper from the mid 80s to early 90s , winning numerous awards and trophies with the club , to become the most decorated goal-keeper in club football history . His comical antics during the most intense games and his agility have become the stuff of legend .
Of the present ; Steven Gerrard is undoubtably the best thing that has happened to Liverpool in the past 15 years - a midfield general with an eye for goal , a committed and inspirational leader .

I really admire Gerrard, not just for his skill but his leadership and his uncanny ability to churn out excellent performance after excellent performance.
His performance on the big stage is unrivaled!! Might i name that great night in Istanbul.. or that brilliant FA Cup win over West Ham -- both would not have been possible without this great leader.
I also play in midfield, so maybe there's a slight bias (well, apart from the fact that he wins games for us~)
But yah, I also like Bruce Grobelaar (i just do.. don't ask why~) but of course, he doesn't even light a candle against Gerrard~

My current favorite is Robbie Fowler, other than Stevie G nobody else sticks out for me as a favorite yet.
From the past, I cannot get past King Kenny - but I do have a soft spot for the great Dane Jan Molby! Brilliant in midfield, could pick out a pass and never missed from the pen spot (only once or twice in his LFC career I think)

Well in my opinion there is Ian Rush for Liverpool`s past and the one and only Steven Gerrard for Liverpool`s future. Sorry if you think most of us are giving the same Answer`s, What can I say except, we all have impeccable taste.

My favourite at present is John Arne Riise, from the past Peter Beardsley, he would run his nuts off for 90 minutes.
If you are talking about the best, as some answers seem to be pointing towards, then it's Dalglish hands down.
