Aamco is where i got the quote from and they said it is $1400 for everything, to remove, rebuild and put back in. They also said it will take 2-3 business days

i own a repair shop, and if that's labor and all complete ,that s a pretty good price, and especially with that warranty on it, just make sure they don't have a way to wiggle out of it,like 3 years or 10 thousand miles, because we both know the ten thousand would come first on it,,but as far as price, and warranty goes that's a real good price for that one, that's about what i get for one, labor and all,so their right on it with this one, good luck with it,i hope this help,s.

That price is okay, but its not GREAT.

On ebay I find rebuilt trannies with warranties for $475 and installation generally runs $375 for front wheel drive cars. So that runs about $800-$900.

Here is the one on ebay:

If you're driving a 11 year old car, its probably hard on your wallet to part with $1400. So here is some advice: 99% of transmissions will not fail in 3 years time. BUT They will fail in the first 25 miles if the company rebuilt or assembled it wrong. So that is where the warranty comes in handy.

Good luck.

The transmission shop my shop works with would charge about $2000, with a 1 year warranty, and using all brand new parts. But $1400 is a steal, I would definatly go for it if needed.

That sounds like a VERY GOOD price if I understood correctly. In fact, it is TOO GOOD to be true. I would question the quality of the rebuild. Is that the price to remove and REBUILD and replace? Or is it to remove and REPLACE with a rebuilt unit?

That's a pretty good price for the warranty being included. You can check around but if you want one that's warrantied you'll not get one much cheaper. You can always go to a junk yard but that's usually what you'll get.

I would call around first it cant hurt if you dont find a better deal then you can still go there! But BEWARE some trans shops try to skim by! Doing what is called a patch job and telling you it is rebuilt.Good Luck

Sounds good, I just blew the tranny in my 2003 TrailBlazer 4 wheel drive and I paid 500.00 for a tranny that came out of an insurance buy back with 70,000 miles on it and 500.00 to install it, I wish the both of us LUCK!!!!

Not a real bad price assuming they take it out and put it back.
