In the middle of only some parking lots in CA, and maybe walking down the sidewalk...if nobody turns you in. We've gotten restricted to homes and cars, and some of our landlords won't let us smoke in our houses!

Pretty much any steak out if you are sitting at the bar!
Personally I don't smoke. But I think everyone has the right to smoke if they choose to and as long as the restaurant owner is find with smoking in his restaurant people should be able to.
I think it's wrong for the government to come in and say this is a smoke free place if it is privately owned.
This is coming from someone who hates smoke. It's a horrible smell and makes people smell really bad. Plus seeing people smoke...I think it makes men look gay and women look trashy.
But more than my opinion on smoking in public. It's the freakin public and this is supposed to be a free country. Smoking is not illegal so people shoud have the right to do it in public places that are privately owned if the ower is fine with it.

Depends on the state. For example, in Pennsylvania all public places; in New York no public places!

Erie County in PA is going smoke free on the 17th of Feb. Right now you can still smoke in most bars.
