about you at work. I have confronted this person and this person is friends with my boss, so that avenue of approach is closed. Any good ideas to get back at this person. I have done nothing wrong to this person for them to start these rumors......I am clueless now.

Sometimes, this person may get rumors from others in the work place, you must be very careful whom you speak to in your company. Try to keep yourself in low profile. However, you must not miss the chance of making friends with all of them in the company. Try to smile and be nice to them. One day, someone will let the cat out of the bag. From here, you will know who has actually spread the rumors. I have passed this stage. It is quite fun!

Once a rumor starts , legally you don't have many options , your best bet it is .... Maintain your head high , act like it doesn't bother you , when you don't defend your self it implies innocence , because defense is as trying to cover up a truth . Rumors will pass , people that know you will know it is only rumors , I had a friend ( that was ) that began telling every body I was a drug addict because I told him I took allot of aspirins for my headaches and migraines ... I just shrugged my shoulders and my daily actions showed I was not what the rumor was . It will go away ...

As crazy as it sounds, Vin, join them.
Make up rumors about yourself and add "fuel" to their fire.
They will run to someone else so fast, you won't be able to finish your sentence.

Just ignore them. Stop talking to the person that is doing it. If you don't react, they have no reason to attack you.
