I do it all the time.I usually put it in a card or folded up in a piece of paper so no one can see it through the envelope. Not because it's illega but so no one will see it and steal it.

Its not against the law or anything, they say not to do it cause you have no proof that the other end got it. The recipient can say it was lost in the mail or anyone could have gotten to it. Sending a check or money order leaves a trail, so you know where it ends up. Make sure u at least wrap it in a piece of paper so you cant see it in light.

It is technically illegal, but no one will bother to prosecute you for it. The real problem is that it's a stupid thing to do. Even in the modernized postal system, hundreds of people will handle a given piece of mail, and if just one of them is dishonest, there goes your letter, and it's very unlikely that the person will ever be caught, even less likely that your money will be returned.

Just send a check.

It's in their policy that cash, money equivilent and jewelleries are not permited to be send by post. You can do so, but they would not assure a return when the cash is lost in the mail. So, if you want to send money over, write a cheque.

I BELIEVE THE REASON YOU SHOULDN'T SEND ACTUAL MONEY IS BECAUSE THERE'S NO PROOF OF MONEY IF THE MAIL GETS LOST OR STOLEN. EVEN IF THE LETTER OR ENVELOPE IS REGISTERED THERES NO WAY TO TRACK THE CASH.

You can but at your own risk. I always wrapped it up in sheets of paper to make it look like a letter.
