Absolutely, animals can be and are gay. I have a bisexual cat.
There is a book called "Biological Exuberance", by Dr. Bruce Bagemihl, with 700-plus pages of gay and bi mammals, birds, and fish.
Do take a look at this article.

Yes, of course they can. Most, like 95% of animals are bisexual, meaning they do it for the sensation, not because they like "other males." Also, say in a pack of wolves, the other males submit to the alpha male to show him he's "the boss" and they are submissive to him. HOWEVER, there are a few (and I mean few) that do have completely homosexual pairings. Many, such as flamingo's will have 2 males that one will mate with the female, she will lay the egg and then they together run her off so they can raise it.
Some animals do not even need sex, they are born already pregnant, or at a certain age, they become pregnant. So, its not about "who or what is gay," nature is way beyond that. Nature loves diversity. The more varieties, the more ways life is different, the better as far as life is concerned.
PS Christians would "never consider" the idea of a gay animal. Because then they would be faced with the fact that what they consider a "sin" may in fact be part of God's Creative act and that would never do!

"J.B.S. Haldane may not have had homosexuality in mind when he uttered his famous quote about a queer universe, but it has proven to be far more prescient than he could ever have imagined. In the approximately 1,000 to 3,000 species whose behavior has been well researched and described in the literature, approximately 450 have been shown to have clear homosexual behaviors. As we'll learn in this essay, homosexuality is not at all exclusively a western, European cultural pattern as some Christian and Muslim fundamentalists and Afrocentrists (and even some African politicians) have long maintained. It's not even unique to humans. And any homosexual behavior you care to name - anal sex, same sex kissing, long-term pair bonding between members of the same sex, courtship rituals unique to homosexual couples, all these and many more are all commonly found in the animal kingdom." -Scott Bidstrup
Yep, it's natural and it is everywhere. And if humans are made to reproduce, then should we shun hetero couples who don't have children. What about those who can't? Are infertile straight people "unnatural" too? Obviously, homosexuality is not a mental thing that you can just "get over."

Is is true, there are gay animals. Scientists have found several species with cases of homosexuality. Just type in gay animals on yahoo. You will find all sorts of websites. While we may not know why some animals are gay or why some humans are gay, we have to just accept it. There is obviously a reason, or natural selection would have wiped the trait out years ago.

I dont know that "gay" would be the right term.. that would be another anthropomirphising attribute to animals that really dosent exist in the animal world (like rape, murder, theft, monogamy) those are human concepts.. now if you are asking strictly if same sex sex takes place in the animal world? Oh indeed it does.. quite routien in fact..
In fact man's closest genetic relative the Bonobo (and ya'll thought it was the chimpanzee? UMM NOPE thats propaganda.. they are down a percent point) is highly promiscious and even engages in homosexual activity VERY frequently.. )
Now if ya have a hard time wrapping yer mind around that.. lets make it easier.. SPOT the average male dog will hump yer leg yer couch or yer cat.. Hmm how exclusive to do really think his sexual preferences are? (that easier?)
Note all those animals they used to think were monogamous?? Umm turns out they really arent.. they just handnt studied em watched em for long enough at first.. story is different now (yes even yer beloved swans mess around.. bond mate for life tirns out is different than sexually exclusive LOL)

You better believe animals can be gay. Every species has gay members. I even have an example. My family raises sheep. We turned a very nice and shall I say, very expensive, ram out in the field with a whole flock of beautiful lady sheep (ewes) He ran from them! One rather seasoned old biddy managed to corner and convince him to give it a try. He was examined by a couple of vets and he checked out perfectly healthy. Well, the sheep business depends on baby sheep (lambs) so we turned another ram out in the field. Well you guessed it! He fell for the other ram! The other ram did not return his romantic intentions. (For us, thank goodness or we would never get a lamb crop!) it is actually not that uncommon, it is very common with pigs as well. So for all of you who can't believe that animals can be gay, here is the proof! (I am sure the good christians will now officially banish him from the flock, we had to anyway. Like I said no sheep sex, no lamb babies, we get no funds to live on!)

If you mean a species having sex with the same sex then it is normal. There were 2 penguins in the Central Park zoo who got quite a lot of press lately. They were both males and tried to hatch a rock together. Finally the zookeeper gave them an egg and they hatched a little girl penguin. Alas, they broke up when one of them decided to start a next with another woman.
But, most zoologists agree that homosexuality is rampant in most species on earth.

Yes, animals who are gay have been observed and documented.
And the fire and brimstone type of Christians consider bad anything that doesn't conform to their bigoted judgments.

homosexual behavior has been observed in hundreds of species of animals....it IS genetic. it's not a mental thing that you "get over." it's how we're born, not a choice. like being straight...or black or white or short or tall...
FYI, homosexuals CAN and DO reproduce. I have several gay and lesbian friends who have biological children.
what IS unnatural is passing judgment on people you don't know and preaching intolerance.
