Probably some of the most saddest things to say. There are truth in some stereotypes of all people, and then some are not.
Well, Black women are stereotyped for being poor, on welfare, having kids by different men. Don't have good hair, are not attractive dark skinned, loud, obnoxious.
These things we get mad about but there are truth to them, and when you respond angrily instead of just listening and figuring out how to change stereotypes, then people will look at you differently. Black people in general do have a habit of getting very angry when talking about stereotypes, because no one likes to hear the truth and because it seems like we are the most discriminated against. But when you listen, and compromise, you learn. People can throw stereotypes at me, it won't make me hate them or want to fight, just open their eyes a bit.
People should focus on the good!

Aww this is so sweet! Thank you. I would love to mentor high school students, may I ask how you got into that? Did you need to get your credentials like teachers do? I'd love to help other younger African American girls with these same issues! It's like a passion/dream of mine! ^.^

Could probably go on and on...and sadly, most of these stereotypes I've heard from Black men

I guess growing up as a white person in mostly white communities, I held stereotypes of them as being assertive even to the point of being bossy (not putting up with the same b.s. that white women do), of being very matriarchal, that is women hold the families together.
