Yes it is almost a fact that Plummer will be the quarterback of the Texans next year. I am not a big Plummer guy but I think it is a good move because Plummer is a more mobile quarterback who can deal with the porous offensive line that the Texans have.

carr is still the guy according to the texans. that was obvious when they didn't take v.y. ... or matt leinart... or jay cutler. instead they passed up bush and three of the better qbs to come out of college in the past few years to pick up a defensive end they could have gotten with the 3rd, 4th, or even 5th . i can't imagine the texans would pick up jake "no longer the snake". his decission-making has deteriorated and he's not as mobile as he used to be. if they wanted to make a few offseason moves, the texans should look to improve their o-line, or the defense that is supposed to combat the colts' offense with rookie mario williams. Houston could also use a receiver that can get open quickly so carr doesn't have to stay in the pocket for 5-10 seconds and take a sack while waiting for a wideout to get open. i don't think that either qb is a quality starter for anyone except maybe the lions. plummer never found a system that fit his skills and is now over the hill. carr is better than plummer is now, and plummer's hit agaist the salary cap would be insane to pay for a backup. if the texans decide to get a new qb, they should look to the draft or to YOUNG free agents like seneca wallace from seattle, who could avoid the rush well and even play reciever in trick plays. as far as the draft, quinn or Russel will likely still be there by their 1st round pick, and troy smith will probably be available in the 2nd if tampa bay doesn't pick him up (gruden was supposedly impressed by his knowledge and how well he grasped gruden's offense). Houston's young and likely wont make the playoffs in the 1-2 years that plummer would play for them if he starts. they should be looking to the future, not just to next year

I sure hope the Texans go for Plummer, because, while I really dont like the guy, he still is a decent quarterback (while still overrated), and Mike Shanahan made a quick, dumb move by putting in Jay Cutler. Plummer needs to play somewhere else and Houston would be a good choice and a good fit.
As for Houston, I think Carr is a great QB, just the players around him are kind of counterproductive, (besides Andre Davis). His line gives him absolutley no time to think or throw, and since Plummer is a mobile QB, he could adjust to the poor offensive line. I hope David Carr could go to my Browns or even serve as a backup to Rex Grossman here in Chicago(since weve seen what Griese can do). I dont think he should be a backup for any team though.
I have been talking with my friends and I said what the Bears should do is try to get Carr, and now it could be a possibility.

Yes, we do need a new QB....and no, not Jake Plummer. Jake Plummer throws interceptions like I change socks. He is a terrible decision maker. I'd rather have Carr than Jake Plummer.
If anything, the Texans should pursue Damon Huard from Kansas City. He proved his worth this year with the injury to Trent Green in Week 1. He would be relatively inexpensive.

David Carr is an exceptional QB, his completion % was almost 70% this year. His problem is his offensive line blows and doesn't give him protection and time, and he hasn't had a consistant running game with different backs and hurt Dominick Davis. If he had a consistantly good running back, especially one who can block, and a more solid offensive line, his talent would shine. That is what the Texans should invest in, not a new QB

when your quarterback averages getting sacked 54 times a season over 5 years the problem is not just the QB, Plummer is an egshell too when hes pressured...plug some of the other holes first...

Tell me one thing. How in the world did Houston with the #1 pick pass on Vince Young or Reggie Bush? Real brilliant. Every time the Titans or the Saints come to town, the Houston fans feel angst because they see what could have been. Texas fans want to see Vince Young, so Tennessee is shown locally instead of the Texans on TV.
