we have had a baby offed tous fromthe phillippens and we want to know what we need to do in order to get it legal the baby has been abandoned to a church and the pastor have custody of the baby and all the nessercery paper work and had the baby for 12 months

I am studying law here in the philippines. Three things.
1. Contact the social welfare department (DSWD) and ask for assistance.
2. Be sure to know the person your liase with. Make sure to check with DSWD the papers and please do a background check on the pastor and the church you are dealing with... kidnapping here is rampant plus the fact that some people below poverty line are desperate and they sell thier kids.
3. Conslut a lreputable local lawyer for proper guideance. Ask your embassy here in Manila for assistance.

are u dealing with a US agency? if so, they should know what to do, but at some point you're going to have to use a lawyer and be prepared to spend big bucks. I would also want to use a lawyer to guard against getting ripped off by the agency--what if they take your $$$ and don't give you a baby? good luck
