well, there are many reasons. for one, you might be typing in different code. cuz there are unicode, western, english, etc. but one problem might be that you haven't installed an extra package that lets you type and read chinese characters. i used to have that problem, as i frequently view things in Korean.

Sometimes, a pop-up will appear when you go to these sites, and it will ask to install a language pack. If you install it, you will be able to see the Chinese writing.
If you don't see the pop-up, try turning off your pop-up blocker for a while.

well for you to see it (including others to read it) you have to go to the top of your window, click View, Ecoding, and then choose your language. Click more to get more choices such as simplified chinese and more.
