Speech ideas?

I have to make a speech on an American culture that isn't too controversial. Any ideas? Thanks.

How about "The Cultural Melting Pot."
The ideals that constructed and sustain this country are built on the belief that the unlimited possibilities of unrestrained upward mobility exist for all of those willing to pay the price in sweat. Everyone living in this country, or came here, or wants to be here, long for the idea of this bright piece of human hope. Together, all striving for the same idea; hoping that our children may have better; better than what we had.
The American culture is a huge, life-size mosaic blending many separate pieces, many cultures, many dreams all melted thoroughly as one out of a common purpose and in the process making our culture a unique homogeneous portrait when viewed as a whole.
Another question concerning our current cultural incarnation; Are we succeeding in our endeavor to continue our blending into a oneness of Americanism. Or are we just globs of separate sameness clinging to the cultures left behind. J/S
