I have software which I think will work but I need to know what kind of adapters are required to go from a stereo turntable (Elac) to a USB port on my laptop. Have been told I need a special video/audio card(?)

if your computer has a audio input card/ or a microphone input you can physically hook your turntable up and record tracks as a wave file then convert to an mp3, and lable tracks or possibly record as an mp3 directly---make sure record is sterile clean and dont bother recording a scratched record---you would be better off getting the song already as an mp3
