I hate WMP 11, I hate Itunes...I want to make my own. I know how I would have it look, I know how it would work...I just dont know how to program it. What programs, manuals, pdf's, or anything else would I need to complete this?

Naw, I dont need college. I need books and PDF's. I will learn everything I need to know on my own. ive built a computer without help, I have diagnosed computers without help...other then books, I have told windows where to boot up from cause for some reason it lost where it was located...I can do it. I just need the book power. A small army of programmers is for someone who is too lazy to learn how to do things themselves.

I admire your courage but I'm afraid that along with your courage you will also need Software Engineering knowledge.

Good luck and don't give up.

Here's what you'd need: A small army of programmers. The media players we use today are highly advanced programs, with thousands of lines of code. A normal person, especially a programming novice, would go absolutely nuts over this, especially if you have a certain set of operations and a certain GUI (Graphical User Interface) planned out. In short, this would be a pain to program all on your own.

I would either reccomend a) holding off until you own your own software company, or b) trying some of the other media players out there, like MPlayer, or WINamp.

If you eventually want to know how to program, I would reccomend taking courses, either from your community college, or from some other source.

All that being said, I respect you wanting to jump right into programming. I'm not saying you can't do it, but you'll need to spend countless hours trying to program it. So learn, learn, and learn some more, my friend. Once you're really experienced, and you think in a few programming languages, then come back. Trust me, a few years of hard work and learning now will be better than trying so hard now.
