It depends on what I'm making and how much time I have. When I have the time I like Jasmine, Basmati, Abrorio (sp) or brown. Most of the time I just use brown Minute Rice.

Depends on the rice.... the best (not bleached and processed) take anywhere from maybe 30 minutes to an hour (stove top in water with a lid). Some need de-starching by placing and rinsing in cold water for maybe 15 minutes. Follow the instructions carefully. Generally, our experience has been that the amount of water suggested makes a soggy rice. Preferring drier, fluffier rice, we use a little less water and more 'standing' time after cooking.

Most of the time I use the 5 minute rice. Some recipes call for the natural.

THE BEST WAY IS TO HAVE AN AUTOMATIC RICE COOKER. ( ELECTRIC) IT WILL COOK THE RICE PERFECTLY AND THEY DONT COST MUCH. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS WHICH MENTION THE AMOUNT OF RICE AND THE AMOUNT OF WATER. SHUT THE COVER AND PLUG IT IN AND SET THE ON SWITCH AND IN JUST A FEW MINUTES YOULL HAVE PERFECTLY COOKED RICE AND NOT ALL DRIED OR OVERCOOKED.
