I'm a college student and I'd be hard-pressed to find a female who doesn't watch that show faithfully. Since females young and old alike watch this show with an addiction like none other, I figure that if I can find out the reason behind their Grey's Anatomy obsession, I can discover some hidden truth about the psyche of female existence. Seriously. i'm not joking. What is it about this show???

Being a female, I'd say because the show mixes good medical drama with romance, so you have that "soap opera" element to it. You want to stay tuned to see who gets together and who breaks up!

I am a die-hard fan of Grey's Anatomy, if I miss an episode on t.v. I have to watch it on-line in the computer lab at my college (because of the good streaming connection). For me, Grey's Anatomy combines many of my personal interests good looking men, medical dialogue and a multiracial / equal opportunity environment. The script is one of the best written, at the present moment. Grey's Anatomy gives you what reality, and most other television shows of this day and age, cannot. Furthermore, Grey's Anatomy reflects some important morals and adult topics.

its hard for me too to understand about this phenomena.
i have tried to watch it because of this hype i hear and word of mouth recomendation.
maybe the show is popular because of the human drama an the fact that people can begin to imagine what is like to be a MD and be in thoes dificult situations.
maybe i´ll rent the first season on dvd an take it from there.
personally i like desperate house wives myself . even if we all dont live in perfect suburban homes we can all relate to the situations and emotions the characters live. maybe thats kinda what people also like about gray´s!!

I like it because its not really "Soap"y. It has it's funny moments which aren't few and far between. The characters are well written. The stories are well written. And sometimes it just intriguing to watch them perform open heart surgery.

I don't know, I'm a woman and I think the show is distasteful, sleazy and silly. I prefer shows like Lost, Heroes and Law and Order: CI myself.

Its so shocking without all the killing and violence stuff. Plus the cast is sexy. What more can you ask from a show?
