Hey I was wondering if anyone ever heard of that electric supercharger for like $99 and is supposed to add like 30hp to you motor. Another one is the vortech cyclone for $60. Can anyone tell me if these superchargers work or are they just a scam. I've heard that they do work but I just need some more peoples answers. Thanks!

Vortech is BS. You can find something similar in Kragen's now for "up to 3 mph gain" and costs like $90. Let's put it this way: how can a purely passive device affect the input air's quality, and thus affect the fuel delivered into the engine cylinders? Just a bit of common sense should tell you "no way".

Same for that $100 wonder advertised in the back of magazines. Just think about it... What kind of compressor can you get for $100? Can that deliver enough air to the engine in real-time? Nope.

There is such a thing called "Dynacharger", which is basically a compressor NOT powered directly by exhaust, but rather by a electric motor, powered by battery, which is then charged by a turbine spun by exhaust gas. By avoiding the direct linkage, the problem of turbo lag is eliminated, but the electric compressor isn't quite as efficient, or compress to as high pressure, so there's a few more bugs to be worked out.
